For Today…
Outside my window... it is cloudy and breezy, with a chance of rain showers; 46 degrees—supposed to reach 53 today :) I’m excited that Thursday is supposed to be in the lower 70’s! We didn’t get ANY of the snow they forecasted for this past Sunday. It seems as if winter is quickly passing by without much of a trace—and I don’t mind a bit!
I am thinking... about my daughter and her great-grandma giggling together this past Saturday—lol :) I wish I’d gotten a picture!
In the kitchen... for supper tonight, I’m baking a whole chicken, surrounded with carrots, potatoes, and onions.
I am wearing... jeans, black socks, and a blue long-sleeved top.
I am going... to throw a load of laundry into the washer in a few minutes. I love the scent of freshly washed and dried clothes! One day I hope to make some homemade laundry detergent--I just have to find a place to store it, since it makes quite a bit! My husband isn’t too sure about it, but I’d like to at least try it once…just to see.
I am hoping... the book I ordered—“The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady”--comes soon!
I am looking forward to... an “out and about” day on Friday. My husband will be off and we are thinking of driving to a mall in another state…just to do something “different.”
I am pondering... Matthew 10:29-31:
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
A few plans for the rest of the week: we were off for President’s Day yesterday (did a little thrifting, went to the library); getting groceries Wednesday evening; my husband’s birthday Thursday; a “day off” on Friday
A peek into my day... a very old can of DIME BRAND baking powder I bought at an antique store several years ago while on vacation—it was never opened, still full of baking powder. I sometimes wonder about the kitchen it was once in, so very long ago…

I love your post! Can't tell which is my fav part because I like it all:)Family togetherness, cooking chicken with veggies, making laundry detergent, Edwardian ladies, the gospel of Matthew, and thrift stores:)
Your supper sounds delicious, and I'll bet the house smells yummy too! The Scripture in Matthew is one of my favorites. So comforting to know God values us! Have a wonderful time with your husband on his day off. God bless, thanks for sharing your daybook.
I've been thinking of making some homemade laundry detergent as well, but just haven't taken the leap yet.
I really enjoyed reading your post today.
Sounds like a good day :) You're going to love that book. I picked it up at a thrift store about a year ago. I love it!
Blessings,
Marcia

I've made homemade laundry soap and it works great.. Save all your laundry soap jugs for awhile and then you can make the ghomemade and have storage jugs for it.
Have fun on your day off ..

Karen,
What a sweet week! Aren't we getting spoiled by this warm winter weather!
Where weight is critical, North Face Jackets For Women down is the best choice, For shorter trips or car camping, polyester is suitable, whilst for bivouacing or snowholing where your bag is likely to get damp, pile is worth considering. Whatever the fill, Moncler Sale sleeping bags come in various weights with season or temperature ratings. Be warned, these are guidelines only. Cold sleepers may need an extra 'season' to ensure a warm night, whilst warm ones may be able to get away with a lighter bag than that suggested for the time of year. You can of course 'stretch' the warmth of a bag by wearing clothes in it, Belstaff Leather using a sleeping bag liner, and all sleeping bags will perform better if used with an insulating mat underneath. Sleeping bags are manufactured by most of the top outdoor manufacturers including: Snugpak, Cumulus Sleeping Bags, Belstaff Womens Jackets Mountain Equipment, RAB and The North Face
