Friday's Fave Five~November 20

I thought I would try something different today. Susanne at Living to Tell the Story hosts Friday's Fave Five each week, so I thought I would join in.

Here are my favorite things from this past week:

1. A sweet note taped to the bathroom mirror yesterday morning from my husband :)

2. On Monday I found out that I had won a giveaway, and I received the package in the mail yesterday. More on this tomorrow!

3. After subscribing to the Old Schoolhouse Magazine a few weeks ago, part of the promotion was that I would receive 10 free gifts of my choice.... I received my coupons for the free gifts in the mail yesterday!

4. After getting rid of a couple of things and rearranging our livingroom this past weekend, I love how it looks now. It's so cozy. I never want to change it again!

5. Even though I really dislike getting groceries for more than one week at a time, we bought them for two weeks last night since Thanksgiving is next week. But, I'm glad for a couple of reasons...I was able to stay within our budget (I actually saved money), saved over $10 in coupons, and one of the best parts--I don't have to go back next week!

What are your favorites for the week? What has touched your heart? If you would like to join in or see other entries, please see Susanne.

30 Days of Thanksgiving: Day 20

I am thankful for... bargains and sales.
I love going to the store with a list of things I need to buy, and then finding them on sale...or even on clearance!

A Simple Woman's Daybook~November 16

For Today… Monday, November 16, 2009

Outside my window... it is mostly sunny, and to reach a high of 60 degrees today.

I am thinking... that I am glad to have an old friend back.

I am wearing... a long sleeved brown top and jeans, barefeet

I am remembering... that I need to finish up a few projects for Christmas soon.

I am creating… a cozier livingroom.

I am going... into town today for a couple of appointments.

I am reading... "For Better or For Best" by Gary Smalley

On my mind... I have too much stuff! I need to quit going to the thrift store and being tempted by things I don't really need.

From the learning rooms… our regular subjects, lots of reading.

Noticing that... the oak trees are starting to lose their leaves. It won't be long until they are all bare.

Pondering these words... I have this framed and sitting on my desk: "Some of life's greatest treasures are just the little things."

From the kitchen… baked chicken with carrots, onions, & potatoes, applesauce

Around the house... we have been decluttering and rearranging our livingroom. Beginning Saturday afternoon it looked as if the room had exploded...but things are starting to fall in place now :)

One of my favorite things: Thanksgiving

A few plans for the rest of the week: a couple of appointments today, groceries on Thursday evening, church revival on Friday and Saturday evenings, church & church dinner on Sunday.

From my picture journal...

If you would like to join us in The Simple Woman's Daybook, please see Peggy for details.

30 Days of Thanksgiving: Day 16

I am thankful for... my two able-bodied guys who are willing to help me move furniture around whenever I take a notion to start rearranging :)
